On Saturday night, Dave Matthews and Tim Reynolds took the stage for their third and final performance as part of the ninth annual Dave & Tim Riviera Maya destination concert event at Moon Palace in Cancún, Mexico. Their latest extended weekend appearance tallied 28 song entries, including a first-time cover of Pearl Jam’s “Breathe” by this specific pair and the debut of “Making It Great,” the new number sliced fiddler Jake Simpson’s four-song sit-in, which allowed for a final return after Matthew’s solitary delivery.

Saturday’s festival finale found the duo setting course by way of the Dave Matthews Band songbook, “So Much to Say,” “Granny,” before breaking the emerging pattern through the arrival of two pieces off Matthews’ only solo album, Some Devil, “Save Me” and “Oh.” The pair pushed through “Virginia in the Rain,” “Rooftop,” “Lover Lay Down,” and “Space Man,” before bumping into the Pearl Jam original. “Just Breathe” emerged as a first-time play by Matthews and Reynolds, who had previously tested the compositions with the band. Notably, Matthews has also played the song solo, as recently as Aug. 1, 2025.

For the next move, Matthews left Reynolds deliver “Betrayal” before ultimately returning for another stack of material that included “Crush,” “Black and Blue Bird,” “#27,” “Monsters,” “Jimi Thing,” “Out of My Hands,” “Captain,” and “Cornbread.” Next, Reynolds took another solo, a segued pair of Led Zeppelin originals, “Ten Years Gone” and “Kashmir.” Before welcoming their guest, Matthews and Reynolds gave proper treatment to “One Sweet World,” followed by “Stay or Leave.”

Simpson, who had previously joined the Dave Matthews Band in concert, was welcomed to the stage for the start of the night’s sit-in, which included songs with welcome pockets for extemporization with fiddle flair: “Warehouse,” “Pig,” and “Ants Marching.” Next, the night’s encore began with a solo debut via Matthews, who delivered a track called “Making It Great” for the first time in front of a live audience. Simpson returned, adding to “Tripping Billies,” before a solo Matthews performed the final song, “Some Devil.”
