The new studio effort by Maggie Rose has just been released. Cocoon features six songs that the artist recorded with longtime collaborator Ben Tanner, who co-produced the EP alongside Davis Naish. As Rose has noted, “I am so excited to release this EP which is a collection of songs I recorded while pregnant with my son Graham. These are songs that examine growth and all its glory and edges. It was such a creative, beautiful and hopeful time for me and I wanted to seize that moment and unburden myself of feelings I no longer needed moving forward. These songs are a bridge between my last LP and where I’m headed, my old self and my new and I’m so happy that I was able to capture some feelings in these songs that represent that amazing time in my life.”

The EP includes a number of songs that already have garnered acclaim. “Sting,” which was co-written by Rose, Naish, Natalie Hemby and Steph Jones (Sabrina Carpenter, Teddy Swims) features soulful lead vocals by Rose that blend with an insistent beat and a rich string section. “Poison In My Well” is a soaring collaboration with Grace Potter, which the two artists performed live in late September at the Pilgrimage Festival in Franklin, TN.

Looking ahead, Rose will appear on select dates, including her hometown holiday concert. which will take place in Bethesda, MD on December 19 and 20. In addition, she will appear on October 30 edition of The Kelly Clarkson Show with Potter.
