Gov’t Mule have announced their plans for a 2025 New Year’s Run, carrying on a beloved tradition and concluding a triumphant year of touring. Keeping with the custom that the iconic Warren Haynes-fronted Southern jam and electric blues outfit first launched in 2002, Gov’t Mule will unite with their fans to ring in 2026 with three shows in the Empire State. The series will begin on Dec. 28 at Schenectady, N.Y.’s Proctors Theatre, then continue with back-to-back stands at New York City’s storied Beacon Theatre, the year-end celebration’s longtime home, on Dec. 30 and 31.
“This New Year’s Eve, we will be honoring the music of 1971, arguably the greatest year in rock music history,” Haynes shared in a release.
Gov’t Mule’s 2025 New Year’s Run will cap off an action-packed year for vocalist and guitarist Haynes, founding drummer Matt Abts, keyboardist Danny Louis and bassist Kevin Scott. After beginning the year with the 15th edition of their signature Island Exodus destination festival, the band tore through two memorable shows leading the first annual Suwannee Amp Jams in March.
In July, following the Warren Haynes Band’s European tour, the quartet launched their Back in the Saddle Tour, which has delivered a steady stream of headline-worthy moments since, including five surprise-filled shared bills with Tedeschi Trucks Band last week. They’ll return to the road for the tour’s East Coast and Midwest leg on Oct. 10, culminating in the revival of their celebrated Mule-O-Ween tribute shows, returning for the first time since 2022 with Washington, D.C. and Philadelphia engagements dedicated to Aerosmith.
After stopping in NYC to wrap up their 2025, which marked the 30th anniversary of their self-titled debut album, Gov’t Mule will set off 2026 with Island Exodus 16, staging at the Hideaway at Royalton Blue Waters Montego Bay in Trelawny, Jamaica, from Jan 15-18. Beyond three full two-set shows from the band and a special solo set from Haynes, attendees will experience shows from moe., Daniel Donato’s Cosmic Country and legendary guitarist John Scofield, who will sit in with his longtime collaborators in Gov’t Mule throughout the event. Tickets for Gov’t Mule’s 2025 New Year’s Run will go on sale via an artist pre-sale on Wednesday, Sept. 17, followed by a Relix presale beginning at 10 a.m. ET on Thursday, Sept. 18. General on-sale will open this Friday at 10 a.m. ET. Learn more at mule.net.
