Big Thief have shared their plans to hit the road again with the “Somersault Slide 360 Tour,” crossing the country with their first batch of 2025 tour dates this fall. From Sept. 17 to Nov. 7, the shapeshifting alt-folk trio will wind through 20 dates, marking their first live series since 2023.

Big Thief will set out on their next run with a performance at Sacramento, Calif.’s Channel 24, then work around the West with three shows before returning to the Golden State for stagings at Berkeley, Calif.’s Greek Theatre, Los Angeles’ Hollywood Bowl and San Diego’s Rady Shell at Jacobs Park from Sept. 25-28. On Oct. 1, the group will move to Mexico City for their only stop outside the States, then jump to the Northeast for shows at Portland, Maine’s State Theatre, Boston’s MGM Music Hall, Philadelphia’s The Met, Washington, D.C.’s The Anthem and Queens, N.Y.’s Forest Hills Stadium from Oct. 20-25. After cutting through the Southeast with four shows, they’ll conclude the tour with shows in Dallas, Houston and Austin, Texas from Nov. 4-7.

The “Somersault Slide 360 Tour” will be the first since they parted ways with bassist Max Oleartchik last summer. In the time since their last extended outing, all three members have released solo studio records–Adrianne Lenker’s Bright Future, Buck Meek’s Haunted Mountain and James Krivechnia’s Blood Karaoke and Performing Belief–and Lenker shared a new live album Live at Revolution Hall in April. In February, the trio shared the five-track Passional Relations EP to support wildfire relief in Southern California, which arrived as their first new music since 2022’s Dragon New Warm Mountain I Believe In You.

Tickets for Big Thief’s fall tour are available now via an artist presale, with a general on-sale set to follow on Friday at 0:00 a.m. local time. Read on for the full list of dates, and find more information at bigthief.net.
