Telluride Jazz Festival has officially unveiled the full artist lineup for its 2025 presentation. The festival’s 48th event since its 1977 debut will stage from August 8-10 at its typical venue of Telluride Town Park Campground in Telluride, Colo., featuring 16 acts that blur the lines between jazz, funk, soul and more. Headliners Kamasi Washington, Trombone Shorty & Orleans Avenue and Karl Denson’s Tiny Universe will hike to the historic mining town nestled in the Rocky Mountains to lead three days of intimate live music experiences.
Beyond the titanic names leading the bill, attendees will be treated to sets from Cuban funk firebrand Cimafunk, Bogotá, Colombia-based neo-psychedelia pathbreakers BALTHVS and a rare engagement from the fusion and livetronica supergroup BTTRFLY Quintet. Further fan favorites down the bill include London’s Afrobeat innovators Kokoroko, soulful organ trio Parlor Greens and horn ensemble Brass Queens; Joslyn & The Sweet Compression, Voodoo Orchestra, Telluride Student All-Stars Jazz Ensemble, End All Quintet, Northern Colorado Voices, Stillwater All Stars and Hooligans Brass Band round out the program.
“Every year, a dynamic mix of inspiring artists full of talent make their way to the Telluride Jazz Festival and this year is no different,” Festival Director Steve Gumble shared in a release. “There’s no bigger name in contemporary jazz than Kamasi Washington. Trombone Shorty & Orleans Avenue is the modern-day torchbearer of New Orleans music and Karl Denson’s Tiny Universe are funk luminaries. Between these legends and many other exciting bands, it’s guaranteed to be a special weekend here in our mountain town.”
Courtney McClary-Yug, Director of Operations, echoed: “We’re thrilled to welcome a lot of new names on the lineup like Afro-Cuban rock stars Cimafunk and Denver’s all-star funk supergroup BTTRFLY Quintet featuring Adam Deitch, Benny Bloom, Borahm Lee, Hunter Roberts and Dominic Lalli – widely known members of Lettuce, Pretty Lights, Break Science and Big Gigantic. We are also excited to present Colombia’s ulta-groovy BALTHVS, jazz-Afrobeat fusion band Kokoroko, along with red-hot, soulful organ trio Parlor Greens and so many more.”
