After a triumphant 2024, BALTHVS is set to carry their unstoppable momentum into the new year with another North American tour. In two weeks, the Bogotá, Colombia-based neo-psychedelic trio will embark on a seven-stop sprint, comprising high-profile festival bookings and their highly-anticipated sixth US outing. These dates will continue the global celebration of their fourth studio album Harvest, which arrived to widespread acclaim via Mixto Records last July.
Next Sunday, Feb. 16, BALTHVS will take their studied, genre-bending sound to the stage once more with a set in Tlaltizapán, Mexico’s Bahidorá festival, where they will perform among a cast of innovators like Kaytranada, Octo Octa and Eris Drew, Theo Parrish and more. After this landmark booking, the trio will jet up to the US and kick off a West Coast stint with a Feb. 18 performance at San Diego’s Quartyard, then follow up at Los Angeles’ The Mayan on Feb. 19.
BALTHVS will take to the mountains with a Feb. 21 booking at Cervantes Masterpiece Ballroom in Denver, then bring the heat to Aspen, Colo.’s Palm Tree Music Festival on Feb. 22, where their slow-burning grooves will warm the spotlight for acts like Sofi Tukker and FISHER. The group will round out their North American tour with a penultimate performance at Bellingham, Wash.’s Wild Buffalo House of Music on Feb. 27, preceding a grand finale as the headliner at Seattle’s Freakout Weekender on March 1.
After bookings at Lollapalooza Chile, Lollapalooza Argentina and Estéreo Picnic in Bogotá through March, BALTHVS will return to the US for the summer festival circuit; fans can find the singular psych torchbearers at BottleRock Napa Valley in Napa, Calif. on May 23, Electric Forest in Rothbury, Mich. on June 19 and Green River Festival in Green River, Mass. on June 22. “We can’t wait to connect with our fans and share the energy of our music live,” guitarist and bandleader Balthazar Aguirre expressed. “Every show is a unique journey with its own setlist curated for that city, that room, and we’re excited to create unforgettable moments with everyone who joins us.”
To preview their packed live itinerary, BALTHVS have shared a full concert recording from their last summer tour. Captured during their performance at Brooklyn, N.Y.’s Brooklyn Bowl, the set shares a snapshot of the Harvest tour and an inside look at the unbelievable instrumental virtuosity and mind-bending interplay shared between Aguirre, bassist and vocalist Johanna Mercuriana and percussionist Santiago Lizcano. Watch the full performance below.
BALTHVS blend surf-rock shredding, Turkish microtonal miracles, tight cumbia backbeats and more into a peerless, shape-shifting sound. The band cites foundational jam figureheads like the Grateful Dead and Santana as key influences in their musical style and collaborative ethos–which extends to the fans, who can find the group’s guitar and bass tabs published on their site. The latest steps in this sonic voyage are on A Remix Collection, Vol. 1, which takes their sound in bold new directions with six fresh takes on Harvest standouts and other fan favorites.
