Goose have announced the Friday, April 25, 2025, release of their fourth studio album, Everything Must Go, via No Coincidence Records, the Connecticut-based ensemble’s first set of music since the departure of founding member Ben Atkin and the subsequent arrival of newcomer/ current backbeat Cotter Ellis. As a preview of the impending set, Goose turned over their euphoric first single, “Give It Time,” flanked by a list of coast-to-coast summer tour dates that will support the new record.

Everything Must Go will mark the band’s first full-length release of studio songs since 2022’s fan-loved Dripfield. Their latest chapter in a decade-long tenure that began in 2014 builds off the live energy and charisma they are known for: intricate soundscapes spliced with thoughtful interludes of instrumentation propelling their vivacity beyond the jam sphere and into a vortex of indie-rock verve, showcasing each member’s strengthened output.

The band’s best features expel off the forthcoming set, a driving force of characters that elicit carnivalesque qualities of newly reinforced narrative behind live staples and new songs. “These songs all come from different times and places in a way that captures a part of the journey of the band,” Mitarotonda says. “It moves through time for us, but not in a tidy, linear way. Like the band, it’s okay for things to feel more like a landscape sometimes and less like a singular cohesive statement. It mixes different moods and ideas and characters. The through line is that each piece is part of that journey and that everyone is welcome to the party.”

Goose uses the framework of Everything Must Go, produced by D. James Goodwin, to present a three-point look at the past, present, and future. As Mitarotonda puts it, “As we were experiencing a significant change in the lives of the band, as well as reflecting on the multitude of fast past changes unfolding around all of us constantly, the title continued to take on many layers of meaning throughout the process.”

“The idea was to throw everything at this project. To wipe the slate clean,” he signals.

Goose course a slow build into “Give It Time,” helmed by Mitaroonda’s epoch-reference to the day-to-day realities, a mixed bag of joyous moments and calamity, a cause for reflection that builds to a place of perpetual hope–sonically referenced in winged guitar parts, five-part harmony that intensifies over the six-plus minute capture that can be associated with the group’s seismic shift in 2024.

“I feel like this song showed itself to us at just the right moment,” Mitarotonda says. “We’d played around with it for a while but it wasn’t until we started rehearsing with the new formation of the band that it clicked. The arrangement came together in real-time just as the band was emerging from this difficult moment and reintroducing ourselves. And so it feels like an anthem of that time — the doubt, the excitement, and the possibility of something new. It felt significant that the song is about patience and letting things come to you and that’s exactly what happened here.”

“‘Give It Time’ is a triumphant celebration of how far this band has come,” says singer/keyboard player/guitarist Peter Anspach. “From playing small bars and driving our van through the night to playing Madison Square Garden; our journey has been an adventure full of perseverance and brotherhood. To me, everyone singing together in harmony on the last chorus is the personification of that bond we’ve built together to get to this point.”

Serving the set, Goose will take Everything Must Go on the road this summer, playing pieces of the album on the road during their tour–punctuated by the group’s first-ever headlining concert at Madison Square Garden in New York City.

On the road, Mitaronda, Anspach, Trevor Weekz, Jeff Arevalo, and Cotter Ellis will embark on a cross-country romp. The band expanded their forthcoming tour today, tacking on a night in Bend, Ore., at Hayden Homes Amphitheater on May 30 and additional appearances in Chesterfield, Mo. (June 10-11), Cleveland (June 24-25, and a hometown return to Westville Music Bowl in New Haven, Conn. (June 29).
