After three years away from the stage, Dr. Dog have announced a new concert at Philadelphia’s The Mann Center on July 13. The neo-psychedelic indie ensemble’s hometown reunion precedes its recently announced summer appearance alongside The Fruit Bats at Morrison, Colo.’s hallowed Red Rocks Amphitheatre as its first show since a 2021 New Year’s series. At The Mann Center, Dr. Dog will be joined by renowned singer-songwriter Kevin Morby and recently reunited indie pathbreakers The Teeth.

This appearance highlights a nuance in Dr. Dog’s current status: though the band announced its retirement from touring in 2021, it was never suggested that it was dissolving entirely. The group’s upcoming performance–announced with candid social posts that state, “Well, we’re gonna do another show”–honors its history and future by featuring new friend Morby, who solidified his connection with the group by taking drummer Eric Slick on the road recently, and celebrating its local roots by welcoming fellow Philadelphians The Teeth.

Artist presale for Dr. Dog’s long-awaited return to the spotlight at The Mann Center will open on Feb. 14 at 10 a.m. ET. General on-sale begins this Friday, Feb. 16, at 10 a.m. ET. For more information, visit drdogmusic.com/tour.
