LCD Soundsystem kicked off their annual hometown New York residency at Brooklyn Steel on Thursday night. The show marked the 60th time the dance-punk group has performed at the Brooklyn, NY venue since they served as the first act to appear at the space in 2017. While the band has played Brooklyn Steel annually since 2021, and also hosted several residences at the club its inaugural year, this year LCD Soundsystem plan to spice things up by also performing at New York’s Terminal 5 and Queens, NY’s Knockdown Center this holiday season.

The ensemble have also been mixing up their setlist each night and Thursday’s show featured the live debut of “One Touch,” a track from their 2010 LP, This is Happening. They have also been performing their cover of Harry Nilsson’s “Jump Into the Fire,” which they revived last year for the first time since James Murphy put his project on ice in 2011.

Murphy and his group will close out the Brooklyn, NY portion of their Tri Boro run this evening. After their New York dates conclude, the will also end the year with shows at San Francisco’s Bill Graham Civic Center on December 30 and 31.
