RUSH’s longtime bassist, Geddy Lee, has announced the upcoming Paramount+ docuseries dubbed Geddy Lee Asks: Are Bass Players Human Too? The program will roll out in four parts beginning on Dec. 5. Included in the conversation are fellow bass legends and music industry icons, representing bands such as Primus, Nirvana, Metallica and more.

In the recently dropped trailer, Lee embarks on a journey to the homes of Les Claypool, Krist Novoselic, Robert Trujillo and Melissa Auf de Maur, where he takes part in a variety of activities such as canning tomatoes and fruit, fishing, flying an airplane, surfing and of course a significant amount of jamming.

“I’m trying to show the world that a bass player can do anything,” Lee offered via the trailer. “Join me as I travel to the homes of four bass legends and dive deep into their lives and their inspirations. Plus some fun making music, as I try to answer one really important question: Are bass players human too?”

In a press release outlining the impending program, its origins were described by Lee as “The idea for the show was born out of interviews for my first book, The Big, Beautiful Book of Bass. I was struck that these accomplished musicians also live incredibly interesting, multifaceted lives offstage.”
