On Thursday, July 6, Dan Horne shared a new music video for his track “Leave The Light On,” which leads his latest release as the first track on his debut full-length album, Count The Clouds, which dropped in April 2023. The visual aid presents sun-soaked psychedelia embraced by a California-cool vibe hammered in with surfing and sandy scenes.

While the presentation at times seems light, embracing the casual nature of the West Coast with scenery emphasizing the splendor of the region, Horne counters those visuals with a human element: Clips of himself examining his appearance in a bathroom mirror, with and without a wolf mask, which he referred to as an “alter ego” via Instagram.

Count The Clouds was recorded during 2020 and 2021, prior to Horne’s vigorous touring schedule alongside Circles Around the Sun and Grateful Shred. The complete collection consists of original tunes layered with guitars, drums, pedal steel, and keys–showcasing Horne’s developed skills.

The full-length offering features special guests Ny Oh from Harry Styles’ band, Raze Regal (Once & Future Band), Adam MacDougall (Circles Around the Sun), Clay Finch (Mapache), and Frank LoCrasto (Kolombo), and was tracked at Horne’s former Echo Park, Los Angeles studio.
