Eggy have been keeping busy at High Sierra Music Festival in Quincy, Calif. The foursome started off their Golden State stay with a set of music on June 29. During the performance, the band ran through a six-song frame comprised of “One Stop Shop,” which merged into an ensuring “Northern Lights.” The group pulled in “Wayless” before Sierra Hull arrived, mandolin in hand, and assisted with a cover of The Punch Brothers’ original “My Oh My.” After their guest left the stage, the band closed the frame with “Shadow” and “12 Pounds of Pain.”
Continuing their High Sierra Music Festival experience, the group took part in a special set, Carry On: A CSNY Tribute. The cover-heavy display kicked off with “Find The Cost of Freedom,” which ran over into “Love The One You’re With.” “Southern Cross” came before the group of players picked up “Carry On,” which featured a tease of Madonna’s “Material Girl.” They added “Helplessly Hoping” before guests arrived for the final song, the CSN epic, “Suite: Judy Blue Eyes,” with help from guests, ALO’s Dan Lebowitz on steel pedal and Holly Bowling on piano.
Eggy took the stage for a secondary set yesterday, running through choice originals before the group welcomed moe.’s Chuck Garvey. The guitarist assisted his hosts on a cover of Big Thief’s “Time Escaping” before the ensemble followed up sans guests on “Rosetta Stone.” For the final song of the frame, the band mixed a tease of the Stephen Stills penned “Love The One You’re With” into “Burrito El Chavo 2,” tapping into their earlier performance.
Eggy is scheduled to remain on the festival grounds through the weekend before picking up tour stops along the East Coast throughout the summer months. For more information, visit the band’s official website.
