This morning, Joe Russo took to social media to announce his new group, dubbed Selcouth Quartet, will perform two debut concerts this summer. Their first appearance will occur on June 9 at The Falcon in Marlboro, N.Y., followed by a June 10 gig at Brooklyn, N.Y.’s The Sultan Room.

Comprised of Russo, Stuart Bogie, Jon Shaw and Jonathan Goldberger, Selcouth Quartet’s upcoming concerts will see the ensemble perform new music written during a trip to Floki Studios in Iceland this past January. The aforementioned visit to The Land of Fire and Ice consisted of five days of writing, improvisation, and arranging their impending collection.

According to Russo, during the pair of forthcoming concerts, the billed group of players will run through their newly scribed material, which will be released via Floki Studio Records this fall. The shows will mark the group’s first time performing these songs live.

Tickets for the group’s shows at The Falcon and The Sultan Room are on sale now.
