Steve Pollak, also known as Dude of Life, has announced following Phish’s performances at The Hollywood Bowl on April 21 and 22, he’ll keep the party going with his band at The Roxy. The shows will go to the benefit of The WaterWheel Foundation, which is celebrating its 25th anniversary this year.

Pollak–known for deep grooves rooted in classic rock and psychedelia that effortlessly leads to cutting loose and dance parties–has been writing songs in parallel with Phish since he and Trey Anastasio were first learning guitar together in 10th grade. Anastasio has even credited him as being “the crowd before there was a crowd!” He’s credited with writing lyrics and melodies for some of Phish’s most beloved songs, including “Suzy Greenberg,” “Sanity,” “Run Like An Antelope,” and “Fluffhead,” and is the only artist who recorded an LP with Phish as the backing band (1994’s Crimes of the Mind).

For his show, Pollak will handle guitar and vocals while Charlie De Saint Phalle mans bass, Fred Scholl plays lead guitar, Parker Reily slides on keys, and their newest member Chuck Black, also known as Friar Chuck, rocks on drums. Together they’ll showcase Pollak’s refined sound and a new barrage of creativity, which is being recorded by the legendary producer Bryce Goggin presently.

“Once Chuck came on board, the entire band was catapulted into a new stratosphere! This band rocks!” Pollak shared with Jambands.com

Tickets for the Dude of Life’s Phish after-parties are on sale here (April 21) and here (April 22).
