The Disco Biscuits have announced they’ll play a movie along with their music during their performance at The Caverns in Grundy, Co., Tenn., on Saturday, March 11. The band has played along to movies in the past, including shows around Halloween of 2001 and on New Year’s Eve 2015 when they jammed along to Tron.

“It’s one of our favorite special tDB shows and we know you love ’em too! We’ll be playing along to a movie…” the Disco Biscuits wrote on social media. “We will abide by the fan vote, although we won’t be revealing the movie in advance — it’s more fun that way!”

The list of movies up for the vote includes Labyrinth, Princess Mononoke, Planet Earth, Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon, The Fifth Element and Bladerunner. Each of the films is unique, ranging from sci-fi, documentary, animation, martial arts and more. Each film is a visual marvel in its own right, and many are considered cult classics with distinct atmospheres – perfect for a unique musical experience.

The Disco Biscuits first played an improvised set of music to a film score when they played to Katsuhiro Otomo’s Akira during their famed four-set New Year’s Eve show at Philadelphi’s Theatre of the Living Arts on December 31, 1999. In 2001, they played to a series of movies around Halloween and in 2015 they performed to Tron during their New Year’s Eve show at New York’s Playstation Theatre.

Fans can vote until Thursday, Feb. 23 at noon PT to help curate the vibe of the celebratory experience. Vote here now.
