Tonight, Andy Frasco and The U.N. will take the stage at Brooklyn Bowl Philadelphia in continuation of their fall tour. As a special treat, The Disco Biscuits, Jon Gutwillig, will perform a special set under the name Baba G before Frasco and his band fills their billed spot.
Gutwillig revealed the news on social media, where he let his fans and followers know that he would be spinning from 9 p.m. to 9:30 p.m., followed by a secondary set at 11 p.m. to 12:15 a.m. The musician then clarified, “I’m not really spinning tho, it’s a project that I have been thinking about for years and am finally getting together.”
He continued to describe his latest effort as “it very much fits my ethos of live improvisation on stage. I like to dig into the energy in the music on stage in the moment and I need to be able to move the music in that moment. So that’s the basic inspiration.”
Then he finished his statement by adding, “It’s a spiritual journey for me and it’s a super power that I have been chasing for years. I am calling the project Baba G.”
Tickets for tonight’s event remain on sale and can be purchased here.
