On Tuesday evening at the Dolby Screening Room on Hollywood Boulevard in Los Angeles, Dolby and Universal Music held a special listening event for a new version of Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers’ Greatest Hits album, remixed in Dolby Atmos and slated for streaming release this Friday.

The album, presented by Petty’s longtime engineer Ryan Ulyate- who mixed the iconic tracks in the immersive listening format- was played in its entirety for a near-capacity audience of fans, friends, and a surprise special guest, Heartbreaker’s drummer Steve Ferrone.

Following the listening experience, Ulyate and Ferrone answered several questions from the audience.  Of the new Dolby Atmos mix, Ulyate said, “Tom would’ve loved this.”
