Julien Baker has announced she will release B-Sides, an EP featuring tracks taken from the recording sessions of her celebrated third studio album Little Oblivions. The three-track EP is due out on July 21 via Matador Records. Today, the musician has shared the first single off her forthcoming release. Listen to “Guthrie” now. 

“Guthrie” initially appeared as a bonus track on the Japanese edition of Little Oblivions. Baker’s new EP features three never before released numbers, including the latter. In addition to two other songs, “Vanishing Point” and “Mental Health.” 

The single, “Guthrie,” released today along with an accompanying music video, features gentle guitar licks and Baker’s delicate vocals as she delivers a soulful take on the tune. The music video features imagery of black and white landscapes, occasional shots of farm animals and an overall theme reminiscent of early years out west. 

In addition, the release of the new EP coincides with the start of The Wild Hearts tour, which also begins on July 21. At which time, Baker, Sharon Van Etten and Angel Olsen will make their first tour stop at Wolf Trap Centers for the Performing Arts in Vienna, Va.
