The national nonprofit, Little Kids Rock has unveiled the artist lineup for the 20th-anniversary benefit, scheduled for May 17 at Terminal 5 in Midtown Manhattan. Presented by Hot Topic Foundation, the event will be hosted by SiriusXM Hits1’s emcee of The Morning Mashup, Nicole Ryan and feature a handful of performances from some of the industry’s biggest talent.

Little Kids Rock shares the mission of transforming lives by restoring, expanding and improving the music education system in public schools in the United States. This year’s event marks 20 years of working towards their goal.

The musical lineup will feature a performance by a legendary member of Run-D.M.C., Darryl McDaniels. Also set to take the stage are Gov’t Mule’s Warren Haynes, winner of The Voice season three Cassadee Pope and two-time Grammy-Award-winner Jon Secada.

In addition, the evening will honor music industry titan Mavis Staples, who will receive the Peace & Freedom Award. Johnny Rzeznick, best known as the guitarist and frontman of the Goo Goo Dolls, will also be recognized as Rocker of The Year.

“We have so much to celebrate after bringing free music lessons and instruments to more than a million students across the country over the past two decades,” shared Little Kids Rock founder and CEO Dave Wish. “Our growth plans are even more ambitious as we embark on a brand refresh, certify more teachers and engage new partners to support our mission.”

Proceeds from the benefit, including funds raised during the silent auction, will begin on May 10 at www.littlekidsrock.org. Money raised will directly benefit future programming, teacher training and instrument donations.

This year’s event is scheduled from 6-10 p.m. at Terminal 5 in New York, N.Y.; individual tickets and tables can be purchased here.
