Additionally, the coveted Ahmet Ertegun Award, which is given to non-performing industry professionals who, through their dedicated belief and support of artists and their music, have had a major influence on the creative development and growth of rock & roll and music, will go to executive/producer Jimmy Iovine, Sugar Hill Records founder Sylvia Robinson and attorney Allen Grubman.

“This diverse group of inductees each had a profound impact on the sound of youth culture and helped change the course of rock & roll,” said John Sykes, Chairman of the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, in a statement. “Their music moved generations and influenced so many artists that followed.”

The induction ceremony will take place at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles, on Nov. 5, and broadcast on HBO Max at a later date. Ticketing information for the ceremony will be shared in the coming weeks.

The news of the Rock Hall’s 2022 class comes hot off the release of their fan ballots, which included over 5 million votes cast by people around the world. Duran Duran a first-time nominee garnered 934,000 votes, 250,000 more than the Number Two slot winner Eminem.
