Last night, indie-folk group Big Thief performed their song “Certainty” on The Late Late Show from an intimate living room stage. The tender performance acted as the perfect bittersweet soundtrack following James Corden’s announcement that he will be leaving the late-night variety show next year.

“Certainty” is one of many warmhearted tracks off the band’s double LP, Dragon New Warm Mountain I Believe In You, which was released on Feb. 11. The song’s lyrics, written by vocalist Adrianne Lenker, paired well with Corden’s news and include musings on memories of final song requests from call-in radio show listeners and look ahead toward a wishful future.

In addition to their world tour in support of Dragon New Warm Mountain I Believe In You, Big Thief is also set to play at several music festivals this summer including Primavera Sound, Best Kept Secret, and Glastonbury Festival.
