Preservation Hall has announced the lineup that will be performing at the Orpheum Theater in New Orleans on Friday, May 6, to celebrate their 60th Anniversary. The show will be in benefit of the historic foundation’s music education programs like Preservation Hall Lessons and Kids in the Hall, and the Foundation’s Legacy program.
The event will take place during Jazz Fest and has been in the works for two years. Performers for the celebration include Irma Thomas, Nathaniel Rateliff, Big Freedia, Cyril Neville, David Shaw, Ivan Neville, Stanton Moore and more along with the Preservation Hall Jazz Band and the Preservation Hall Legacy Band.
“Jazz Fest is always such an incredibly special time to be in New Orleans. We can’t wait to finally celebrate live music in all its forms – as well as the Hall’s 60th year in operation and the Foundation’s 10th anniversary,” the Foundation Hall Team shared in a press release. “Thank you for your steadfast love and support over these past two years! You played an important role in getting us all back to this happy place.”
