Beloved American saxophonist James Casey shared a health update with his fans on Twitter, stating he was finished with chemotherapy. The musician–who is a member of the Trey Anastasio Band and has credits with The Roots, Phish, Soulive, Lettuce, Dave Matthews Band, Anderson .Paak, the Wu-Tang Clan and more–shared the news with light in his eyes and a constant smile on his face.

Casey said, “First things first, I’m done with chemo, and I’m really really happy about that, and I just want to thank you all every single person who sent a message or a text, anything. I’m sorry if I haven’t got back to you. I know there’s a lot of people I haven’t gotten back to, but I appreciate everything.” He continued to say, “The other reason I’m doing this post is because I kind of have to start everything in my life back over that’s including singing, playing, producing, getting back into shape, because chemo just kills that. So, in talking to people, they said I should probably document this because I’m obviously not the only person who is going through difficulties and having to start back over things, like that, so I’m going to document it all, and I hope you all come with me on this journey.”
