Jewel has announced a new LP, Freewheelin’ Woman, due out on April 15 via her own Words Matter Music. She has also shared a new single, “Dancing Slow,” along with a set of tour dates with Blues Traveler and Train.

The album marks Jewels’ first studio album in seven years. Freewheelin’ Woman is the follow-up to her critically praised 2015 LP, Picking Up the Pieces. The latest LP features groove-heavy tracks inspired by R&B records made at Muscle Shoals.

The Alaska native has shared a song off the forthcoming album, titled “Dancing Slow,” featuring Train. She explains, “‘Dancing Slow’ is ultimately about the ebb and flow of life, and cherishing those moments of certainty that are shared when you’re with a trusted companion. It feels like time slows down for a moment.” Jewel went on to add, “I’m so glad Train was able to join me on this track, with Pat Monahan’s sweet vocals adding another layer to the melody.”

Jewel will join Train and Blues Traveler on the road this summer for an extensive tour that will see stops in New York, Nashville, Dallas, San Diego, and more. See the complete list of tour stops below.
