Reed Mathis, the bassist for Bill Kreutzmann’s side project, Billy & The Kids, has announced a forthcoming concert, dubbed “Bob Dylan’s Night In New Orleans,” at The Chapel in San Francisco, Calif. on Jan. 29.

The one-night-only event will feature an all-star lineup of Bay Area musicians performing improvisations honoring Bob Dylan’s masterworks, Oh Mercy! (1989) and Time Out of Mind (1997). 

Joining Mathis is Steve Adam (ALO), Trevor Garrod (Tea Leaf Green), Ezra Lipp (ALO), Chuck Prophet and Elliott Peck. 

On Friday, Mathis sat in on guitar with Pink Talking Fish– who weave together tunes from Phish, Talking Heads and Pink Floyd– at Sweetwater Music Hall in Mill Valley, Calif. The group performed a slower, funky rendition of “Llama,” a number frequenting Phish’s setlist, though played faster than Pink Talking Fish’s cover.
