Today, Vail Colo.’s Shakedown Bar announced that the local Vail music community has come together to put on a benefit show for Dave Watts, co-founder and drummer of The Motet and Colorado music mainstay, who lost everything in the tragic Marshall Fire. The show is set to happen on the evening of Jan. 16 and will feature music by Bonfire Dub & Friends.

“We’re looking forward to being part of helping Dave rebuild after this horrible incident,” shared Shakedown Bar owner and longtime friend and collaborator of Watts, Scott Rednor. “Dave’s been moving Coloradoans with his grooves for 30 years, so now it’s time to rally behind him and help him through this loss.” 

The après ski event will start at 4 p.m. CT with Dave Tucker’s Sweetspot, Bonfire Dub & Friends will take the stage at 5:30 – 8 p.m. The show will also have a live bidding and silent auction. Tickets for the event are $40 in advance and come with the option to donate an additional amount directly to Watts and his family.

“We all watched with heavy hearts the tragedy unfolding in Boulder County and we are committed to support our friends, families and fellow musicians that lost everything. Vail has an incredible tradition of philanthropy and always rises to the needs of the community at large,” shared Scott Stoughton (Bonfire Dub, Founder at WinterWonderGrass) in a press release. “During my many incredible years living in Vail, the local musicians came together many times to help those in need. I’m personally very proud of the community!”
