Brandi Carlile joined Miley Cyrus during her New Year’s Eve special in Miami, Fla., to revive some of their earliest hits together.
The duo began by performing Brandi Carlile’s 2007 hit single, “The Story,” followed by Miley Cyrus’ 2009 Hannah Montana-era classic, “The Climb.”
A video of the performance was shared on Brandi Carlile’s Instagram page, in which Cyrus bridges the gap between “The Story” and “The Climb,” stating, “How lucky am I that I get to bring in 2022, singing one of my favorite songs of all time with one of my favorite artists of all time.” She continued, “It’s chicks like her that make me want to do what I do.”
Following the duet, Brandi Carlile returned to the stage for a solo cover of “Total Eclipse of the Heart” by Bonnie Tyler.
