Following the unofficial start of the holiday season, members of the Grateful Dead took to Instagram to announce a rare opportunity for fans to bid on a signed 2015 Fare Thee Well and 2014 Gathering Of The Vibes concert posters to benefit the charitable organization HeadCount in celebration of #GivingTuesday.
The Fare Thee Well poster commemorates the second set of the 50-year celebratory Grateful Dead concert series which was held at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, Calif., June 27-28, 2015. Imagery includes a rich red mandala design by New Hampshire-based artist Ryan Kerrgian and a special nod to Phish on the “S” of Santa Clara. Signatures from Bob Weir, Phil Lesh, Bill Kreutzmann, Mickey Hart, Trey Anastasio, Bruce Hornsby and Jeff Chementi grace the holographic foil, making it a must-have piece for any collector.
The second poster up for grabs is from The Gathering Of The Vibes festival which took place at Seaside Park in Bridgeport, Conn., July 31 through August 3, 2014. Rhythm Devils and legendary Grateful Dead drummers, Mickey Hart and Bill Kreutzmann signed the poster designed by artist Laura Dowling.
Proceeds generated by sales of the posters will benefit HeadCount, an organization that encourages civic participation at concerts, music and cultural festivals by encouraging folks to register to vote. The auction is live and fans can place their bids now.
