Next spring, the Orion Amphitheater will open in Huntsville, Ala., with an acclaimed lineup of artists who all have strong connections to the state. The “First Waltz” concert series will take place on May 13 through 15 and include Jason Isbell and the 400 Unit, Brittany Howard, and Waxahatchee.

The three-day run of shows will also feature performances by Emmylou Harris, St. Paul & the Broken Bones, Drive-By Truckers, John Paul White and Mavis Staples. The performances will wrap up on Sunday, May 15, with music by local musicians from Huntsville. The local lineup includes the Huntsville Community Drumline, the Aeolians of Oakwood University, local Huntsville musicians, including the Aeolians of Oakwood University, Kelvin Wooten & Deqn Sue and Translee.

“There are artists performing at The First Waltz who have never played in Huntsville before alongside others who have lived and breathed this special region of Northern Alabama their whole lives,” said Venue Group founder and Mumford & Sons member Ben Lovett in a statement. “I couldn’t be more excited and grateful to both the artists and the City of Huntsville and the people of Huntsville for their sustained commitment and belief in doing something magical here.”
