In the wake of Jazz Fest’s cancellation, many bands and their fans have been considering their role in the ongoing COVID-19 crisis.

And now, for the second run in a row, Widespread Panic will require proof of a COVID-19 vaccination or proof of a negative COVID-19 test (within 48 hours of show) for entry. Masks will also be required for entry.

As previously stated, a similar rule applied to Widespread Panic’s Aug. 6-8 stand in Asheville, NC and it will now continue on through their Aug. 13-15 run in Austin, Texas.

“All attendees of this event must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 OR have tested negative for COVID-19 within 48 hours of attending the event(s),” reads a statement by the band. “In attending the event you certify and attest that you and all individuals in your party attending the event: Are fully vaccinated against COVID-19 (at least two weeks after final dose) and provide proof of vaccination; i.e. original vaccination card, copy of vaccination card, picture of vaccination card OR Will take a COVID-19 diagnostic test (PCR or antigen) within 48 hours of each event and before entry to the facility and will provide proof of negative result to security prior to entry into the facility. DO NOT attend the event and request a refund if you have recently been exposed to a confirmed COVID-19 case or are exhibiting symptoms consistent with COVID-19 in the 48 hour period prior to the event.”
