Dark Star Orchestra have announced that the Dark Star Jubilee festival has been canceled for 2021. It was set to take place May 28-30 at Legend Valley in Thornville, Ohio. The band also stated that the festival will return in 2022. In lieu of the traditional event, DSO have announced ‘Dark Star Jubilation, a two-night run of socially distanced, two-set shows on May 28 and 29 at Legend Valley.
According to a press release, “all ticket holders [to the originally planned Dark Star Jubilee] will be automatically refunded within 7-10 days.” Tickets must be resold for the new event as fans will be podded for social distancing.
“Each concert pod has room for two to five patrons; the ticketing page offers each available pod as a selection on the checkout,” read the press release. “During the checkout process, a very limited number of socially-distanced campsites will be available, while supplies last.”
“The socially-distanced evenings modify the Jubilee to Jubilation as current times and live events have transformed and reshaped according to public health policies with safety for the fans, artists and staff as the primary focus,” concluded the release.
Tickets go on sale Feb. 19 at 10 a.m. ET. To purchase tickets and for more information, head here: http://tkpro.ticketspice.com/darkstarjubilation.

February 18, 2021 at 7:05 pmDSO has played more shows than the band they cover. If Rob saved zero money for a rainy day that’s on him. Live life like an adult and pay for your mistakes don’t beg others if you have the cash, which I wager he does.

February 22, 2021 at 8:45 pmNormal comment from a guy that lives in a normal country where if you break an arm, you have to pay for it because your insurance is bunk and the rest of the people want to use bootstraps to pay for it.

February 18, 2021 at 11:21 amMost likely the band is covered by some kind of health insurance for Rob’s surgery. But YOU do know live shows which are DSO’s main source of income has been hampered with the pandemic? CDs or records they do not sell much, but do allow fans to tape and trade shows with many shows on the internet for free. What do YOU give up for free?

February 18, 2021 at 12:17 pmConsidering DSO has written absolutely none of the songs they play, I’d say these folks are lucky they have a career in music at all. But I’m sure the 4 people who trade DSO shows are grateful…why the hell would you listen to old DSO shows when there’s thousands of hours of actual Dead instead?
