Phish recently announced their New Year’s Eve celebration, which will be a special edition of their ‘Dinner and a Movie’ broadcast. The band will air their hallowed New Year’s Eve 1995 show in its entirety, and while that is going on, they will be playing a chess match against fans on Chess.com, a la their 1995 audience vs. band chess games.

Ahead of the show, the band announced a limited edition poster made by frequent collaborator Jim Pollock. The poster is a play on the ‘Dinner and a Movie’ logo (which was also designed by Pollock), showing a fan watching a television screen and playing chess. The posters are 15.5 by 17 and will be signed and number by Pollock. The posters will have a limited run of 1,995 (in honor of the year of the show), and purchases are limited to one per customer.

The band shared a video announcing the broadcast, in which they parodied a sports documentary. They cheekily discussed their win in the first audience vs. band matchup, before bemoaning their collapse in the second game. Watch the video below!

In order to join in voting for the moves, fans need to register as a member on Chess.com. Registering is completely free. To do so, click here. The band has also shared two chess cheese board recipes for the “Dinner” aspect of the show; find the recipes at livephi.sh/chessmenu.
