For this week’s edition of the band’s All The Years Live video series, the good folks at Grateful Dead HQ are revisiting their Summer 1990 tour with a rocking “Not Fade Away” from North Carolina’s Carter-Finley Stadium.

Explained GD legacy manager/archivist David Lemieux, “Usually attached to ‘Throwing Stones’ from 1983 onward, ‘Not Fade’ was played a set closer once ‘Throwing Stones’ became its partner. Sometimes, though, ‘Not Fade Away’ would simply appear out of the post-‘Drums’ ballad as the closer on its own, and it always went a little deeper when the Grateful Dead did it this way.”
