Umphrey’s McGee keyboardist treated fans to a wide variety of tunes on his Nov. 13 Friday Night Keys livestream, performing not only UM’s rare “Sludge & Death” (played 12 times between 2004-2019) but also an entire segment of Pink Floyd’s Dark Side of the Moon.

After opening with a jazzy duo of “Part II C” by Keith Jarret, “Blue In Green” by Miles Davis, Cummins busted out the UM songbook with Local Band Does OK cut Blue Echo, followed by Anchor Drops favorite “In The Kitchen.” (“In The Kitchen” would emerge later, between Toto’s “Africa” and the “Sludge & Death” bustout mentioned above.)

The aforementioned Dark Side tribute was certainly a highlight of the hour-plus outing, as Cummins provided his rendition of “Breathe,” “Time” and “Great Gig in the Sky.”

Naturally, for his closer, Cummins nodded to one of the greatest keysmen ever, Elton John, with a rocking version of “Bennie and The Jets.”

“Thanks guys! Well, that was a blast night,” Cummins said afterwards, raising a glass and wishing bandmate Ryan Stasik a happy birthday. “…Look forward to seeing you guys some time soon.”
