The Flaming Lips have announced a ‘Space Bubble’ live concert, which will take place on Dec. 11 at The Criterion in Oklahoma City, Okla., the band’s hometown. For this show, the band and the audience will all be inside their own personal plastic bubbles.
“This will be a full-production live Lips extravaganza,” read a press release for the event. However, the band also stressed that social-distancing guidelines would be strictly followed: “Local health and safety standards will be strictly observed.”
The band previously hosted a test run for the show at the same venue, during which they performed “Brother Eye” from their new record American Head. The Lips have shared a video of that performance to whet fans’ palettes before the December show. Watch the video below!
Tickets to the December show go on sale Friday at 11 a.m. ET. To purchase, head to criterionokc.com.
The Flaming Lips were recently featured in the September issue of Relix. Read that article here.
