Saturday Night Live has announced that Jack White will perform as the musical guest on this week’s installment of the live show, set to air Oct. 10 at 11:30 p.m. ET. He will replace country star Morgan Wallen, who was dropped as the musical guest this week for violating the show’s COVID-19 protocols.

SNL creator Lorne Michaels announced the news on NBC’s Today. He noted that White’s performance may include surprise guests. “It has to be somebody who is ready to go,” Michaels said about the last-minute replacement. (Quote via Deadline.)

White has performed on the show three total times previously; twice as a solo artists and once with The White Stripes.

The White Stripes recently announced a Greatest Hits compilation album, due out Dec. 4.
