After rescheduling its 2020 edition to October, LOCKN’ has announced that it will not hold a festival this year, instead pushing the eighth edition of the festival to Oct. 1-3, 2021 (originally reported by Pollstar). In addition, a special “Steal Your Thursday” will kick off the weekend on Sept. 30. As always, the festival will take place at Infinity Downs & Oak Ridge Farm in Arrington, Va.

In addition to the rescheduling announcement, the festival has also announced that in lieu of this year’s live event, it will host a three nights of livestreamed performances by Joe Russo’s Almost Dead, performing from the LOCKN’ grounds. The livestreams will take place on Oct. 2-4. More information on these performances “will be unveiled soon,” according to a press release.

According to a press release, LOCKN’ 2021 “will mark an all-star celebration of Phil Lesh’s upcoming 81st birthday, with the legendary musician performing alongside an array of famous friends and special guests over the three-day event.” A full lineup and more ticket information is yet to be announced.

Those who hold tickets to LOCKN’ 2020 can receive a full refund on their tickets and camping accommodations or choose to hold on to their passes, which will be valid at LOCKN’ 2021. Those who transfer their order to the 2021 edition will receive a free access voucher to the crowdless performances by Joe Russo’s Almost Dead.

In a press release, the festival outlined the process for obtaining a refund on 2020 tickets: “Refunds must be requested by September 27 at 11:59 PM ET; refunds will be processed in as little as 30 days following the deadline; refunds will be issued to ticket holder’s original method of payment. If no selection is made by September 27, orders will automatically roll over to 2021.”

According to the release, “LOCKN’ 2020 ticket holders can also donate their current ticket to LOCKN’, helping to ensure another year of music and family on the farm. A portion of the face value of all donated ticket sales will be given to HeadCount to support its mission of promoting participation in democracy by registering voters at live and virtual events.”
