According to a report by Billboard, Ticketmaster will soon roll out a refund program for shows that were cancelled or rescheduled due to coronavirus.
“Starting May 1, fans who bought tickets for shows that have been postponed will begin receiving emails from Ticketmaster with the concert’s new dates and the option to initiate a refund including the ticket price and all fees,” read Billboard‘s report. “Fans will have 30 days to request a refund, otherwise their ticket will be good for the rescheduled show.”
According to a statement from Ticketmaster’s parent company Live Nation: “or cancelled shows fans can choose to receive up to 150% of their ticket value as Concert Cash, and for rescheduled shows they will receive Concert Cash once they attend the new date.”
“Those looking for ways to give back can opt to donate their tickets to health care workers through Live Nation’s expanded Hero Nation program,” the statement continued. “And anyone who needs or wants their money back will have the option to get a full refund within 30 days once a show has been canceled or new dates have been finalized.”
Billboard noted that these plan comes after “a month of a month of negotiations with five major talent agencies — WME, Paradigm, CAA, ICM and UTA.”
“The large refund effort should cover most concerts and festivals through July. Tickets for events in August and the fall that haven’t been canceled will be addressed at a later date, if the shows do end up having to be rescheduled or terminated,” read the report.

April 20, 2020 at 7:41 pmAnother scam by another monopoly… I just wrote them to get refunds for three rescheduled shows and they denied all three! They are saying they are doing the right thing in the press, but not really. Billions of dollars of income last year they should have no problem taking care of their employees and refund tickets for shows that change dates or cancel.
The $1.50 refund per show was their last scam…
And how about them charging us to get tickets in the mail but then sending us a full envelope full of paid advertisements that are also paying for the mailing!!?? If you’re going to charge me to mail a ticket, KEEP YOUR DAMN ADVERTISEMENTS TO YOURSELF!!

April 20, 2020 at 1:58 pmI LOVE the concert cash idea, but I trust the neighborhood meth dealer more than I do ticketmaster. At least the former doesn’t peddle in fine print. The ticketmaster class action settlement turned out to be a total hoax; I was not able to use any of the $1.50 funds and, as per the settlement, they discontinued providing customer service after a few months.

April 18, 2020 at 11:51 amJust so you know… This notice came at the same time that Red Light Management, who is responsible for most of the bands we like, (Phish etc…) has laid off most of its employees. People stop your whiney little bitch complaining and know that the industry has put the fan first. Even though it meant laying off many thousands of music industry folks.

April 18, 2020 at 1:05 pmHilarious, Paul. So you expect the fans to eat the costs of a concert that will never happen, then fund the unemployment insurance that the overpaid “music industry folks” will collect? Been to a show lately? Ticket costs have increased many, many more times than inflation over the last 20 years. Seems like they should have put aside some of that greed for hard times, no? Hilarious!

April 18, 2020 at 10:26 amDon’t fall for the funny money or keeping the tickets for the future – everyone please demand refunds – the tickets will be there in the future, probably at cheaper prices. Don’t support the Bastard…

April 18, 2020 at 9:54 amWhy is it so hard to just give people their money back instead of jumping thru hoops, Koncert Kash, blah, blah? The last legal settlement from Ticketbastard was a scam of epic proportions. Please put these crooks out of business.

April 18, 2020 at 10:11 amwhile i agree, you guys don’t really think an entity as big as Ticketbastard is gonna fail do you? When you own the venues and the ticket sales (Livenation/Ticketbastard), you control the industry.
It is no different than Pharma, Private Prisons, and so forth. this IS the USA we live in. all you can do is YOUR part.
1. Don’t ever buy a ticket from them…see a different smaller band at a smaller venue/private festival .
2. don’t ever fill a prescription…there are natural remedies for all that ails us (even the drugs are developed from natural origins)
3. Don’t ever call or talk to the police for any reason…if you need to move, move….you’ll be happier in the end. Peace

April 18, 2020 at 8:30 amI’m conservative and pro business. I would never root against a business going under…except for the ticketing cartels. I hope this crisis causes them to go down and go down hard!
