According to The Sun, Genesis will reunite this year with Phil Collins, Tony Banks and Mike Rutherford.
The report teases a tour through the United Kingdom, and the band further excited fans with a post on their official Instagram showing Collins, Banks and Rutherford with the caption “And then there were three…”
Former vocalist Peter Gabriel will apparently not be in attendance for any of the show.
Officially, the progressive, art-rock torchbearers last performed together with the aforementioned trio lineup in 2007, following their “Turn It On Again” tour. It marked Collins’ first time performing under the Genesis banner in 14 years.
In 2014, Collins – who had been fighting back issues for some time, and was in the midst of a short-lived retirement – claimed another Genesis tour was impossible, saying, “Have people thought it through? It’s not as if you’re going to get Peter as the singer, me as the drummer. I can’t play any more, so it’s never going to happen.”
Since then, however, Collins returned to the stage with his “Not Dead Yet” tour and claimed to be more open to the possibility, adding that his son and touring band member Nicholas would play drums as he would sing.
“I can’t imagine what it would be like if I didn’t play the drums, but anything is possible,” he said.
UPDATE:
Collins, Banks and Rutherford confirmed the reunion – dubbed The Last Domino? Tour – on BBC Radio Wednesday morning.
“We all felt, ‘Why not?’” Collins said of the tour, which kicks off in November. “It sounds a bit of a lame reason – but we enjoy each other’s company, we enjoy playing together.”
As for Gabriel, Banks noted that despite his exclusion, “most of the songs people know” came following the singer’s departure and they still “love Peter.”
“Peter left the band 45 years ago and he’s been trying to live it down ever since,” he added with a chuckle. “When they put his birthday in The Times, they always say, ‘Peter Gabriel – Genesis singer.’ And I think, ‘What’s the guy been doing since then, for God’s sake?’”

March 4, 2020 at 5:10 pmYou can still see Steve Hackett. On tour now. Still has over a dozen East coast shows before heading to Australia.

March 4, 2020 at 11:40 amCompletely wrong on your second post: ‘TIPS”.
I: Jimmy Page, a-been chompin’ at the bit since CODA, LOL. John Paul Jones chompin’ at the bit since he was spurned during that “Page and Plant” tour more than 20 years ago. They did re-form for Ahmat Ertegun / Atlantic Records shindigs at the O2 in London in yeah, ’07 or whatever. Bonzo’s son tours often with whatever he can scrounge up for a “Zepp Cover Band”, with who was it, Nancy Wilson of Heart, etc. Plant is the stubborn ass.

So they’re only doing one show? That’s not much of a tour. 😉

March 3, 2020 at 6:37 pmjust cause you want zeppelin to continue without bonzo, doesn’t mean they should to please you. the other 3 never wanted to continue without him, get it?

March 3, 2020 at 11:34 pmObviously Plant never equaled what he did with Zeppelin, but I tip my hat to him for constantly working on new projects. He gave up potentially much bigger paychecks in order to keep growing creatively. It’s better than Page just working on 34 remasters of their old catalog.

March 3, 2020 at 5:30 pmOne the Gallagher dummies from Oasis, David Byrne, Robert Plant, Peter Gabriel, Mark Knopfler, and John Fogerty should get together and form a SUPER-BAND > tour,…..All the guys that can’t seem to join their past, and continue to make music so unworthy that it’s a match flickering in their past shadows…… the stubborness of some entitled artists.

March 3, 2020 at 6:32 pmif you think david byrne and peter gabriel were better with their former groups then you just don’t get it, brah. They did those things and then moved on. jason isbel did the same by leaving the drive-by-truckers. these dudes are poets and need to grow. that’s how creativity works sometimes. things like bands have a lifespan. Plant and Fogerty are a different story, as their stories are different. let em live, let em grow, bro
