“Greetings From Unicorn California,” a documentary about The Chris Robinson Brotherhood, will celebrate its official premiere at the Malibu International Film Festival on Feb. 15.
Filmmaker Matthew Mendenhall began the project back in 2011, when the band was just forming. The film follows the band from their inception through the present day. Mendenhall went out on the road with CRB throughout their run as a band.
“Through the lens of their longtime friend, discover the vulnerable moments sketching out original material and the diverse individuality of each musician as they take their California Space Boogie across the country in this 6+ year trip of Vibration, Love and Light,” reads the film’s blurb on the Malibu Festival website. “We are very excited about [the film], as the story and footage are as entertaining and truthful as the band was in real time,” said producer Jon Cornick.
Tickets to the premiere are still available and can be purchased here. For more information about “Greetings From Unicorn California,” head to their website. For more on the Malibu International Film Festival, head to malibufilmfestival.com.
