Ghosts of the Forest band member Celisse made her Saturday Night Live debut this weekend, playing guitar with Lizzo for her hit “Truth Hurts.”

“I had an absolute blast playing #truthhurts with @lizzobeeating on SNL last night!!” Celisse wrote via Instagram. “It was a debut performance for me there and I am so proud to have been rocking a look and my Custom SG that paid tribute to #sisterrosettatharpe.”

Ghosts of the Forest was the brainchild of Phish guitarist Trey Anastasio, who chimed in via Instagram, writing, “Ghosts of the Forest bandmate @celissemusic CRUSHED @nbcsnl last night with @lizzobeeating !!!!!!”

And while Celisse played guitar for the Lizzo performance, during the Ghosts of the Forest tour she appeared as a vocalist alongside longtime Anastasio collaborator Jennifer Hartswick.

“Trey works differently than any artist I’ve worked with. He somehow has the ability to be so open and available to wherever something wants to go. If there’s an idea in the room he’s willing to try it. But, in the same breath, he also has a really clear cut vision for things,” Celisse told Relix during the formation of Ghosts of the Forest.
