On the evening of Dec. 19, President Donald Trump was impeached by the U.S. House of Representatives for “abuse of power and obstruction of Congress.”
In the hours following, festival headliner and EDM titan Bassnectar made good on a 2017 tweet promising fans that he’ll throw a free concert when/if the president faced charges.
“All these April Fools announcements of shows I’m playing are cute but not real. The only real one is I’ll play 4 free at trumps Impeachment,” he wrote in 2017 following a swarm of fake April 1 show announcements.
Indeed, now – two years later – the producer confirmed that he will work with organizations like HeadCount and his own Be Interactive non-profit “to dream up a free-for-all celebration to rally the vote for 2020.”
He’s also asking fans to let him know what city they’d like for the celebration/rally to take place.
