The String Cheese Incident have shared a new single, “Boo Boo’s Pik-A-Nik,” the latest export from their SCI Sound Lab, which the band established in 2016 as a way to release various types of non-album music directly to their fans.

“We’ve recently been having some fun in the SCI Sound Lab, playing older songs that we never officially recorded in a studio setting,” the band writes, adding a quote from keyboardist Kyle Hollingsworth, who penned the tune:

“Many years ago, this song was originally written as a response to Ross Martin’s (The Motet) song ‘Yogi’s Day Out.’ Recently our friend Greg Koch swung by the Lab to rip a guitar solo on ‘Boo Boo’s,’ and I played the head on organ instead of piano, which definitely brings a different vibe to the song. You can look forward to more new Lab takes on unrecorded SCI classics in the future!”
