Singer-songwriter and bandleader Andy Cabic has announced he will return with his first Vetiver album since 2015, Up On High, Nov. 1 via Mama Bird Recording Co.

Cabic has also shared a teaser trailer for the album, along with the first single, “To Who Knows Where,” a lilting meditation with spare-yet-lush-sounding instrumentation that includes an understated, country-tinged pedal-steel guitar cameo. Listen below.

“How do you explain that you’re leaving again? Not even that you want to, but that you have to?” Cabic’s statement on the track begins. “Hearing playback of the basics we recorded live for this…bass, drums, acoustic guitar, scratch vocal…proved that this fundamental approach was the core of what would work for these songs, this album. I heard it here first.”
