The rumored “Jack Gray” collaboration featuring Jack White and Tenacious D (Jack Black and Kyle Gass) has now gained more context, as Black’s YouTube channel, JablinskiGames, shared a video that includes footage of his and Gass’ trip to White’s house for a secret recording session.

The video follows Tenacious D on the road, with one of the stops in Nashville, where White takes them on a tour of his Third Man Records HQ. The musicians have some fun at each other’s expense, with Gass dismissing Third Man’s straight-to-record lathe by proclaiming, “I like ProTools and redos,” and White confiding to the camera during a Tenacious D photo shoot, “I didn’t realize, but they’re actually not very nice guys. They’re actually really mean.”

Though Black and Gass apparently couldn’t film inside the gates of White’s estate, Black assured his viewers that the inside was filled with interesting artifacts, as one might imagine Jack White’s house containing. Black also notes that the recording session with Tenacious D and White was quick and straight-to-tape. He also adds that the resulting track was “kickin’ chicken” and a “stone-cold jam.”
