Bruce Springsteen will release his first new studio record in five years on June 14.

With song titles like “Hitch Hikin’,” “Chasin’ Wild Horses” and “Somewhere North of Nashville,” Western Stars will focus on a variety of Americana themes and take inspiration from ’60s and ’70s era, Southern California songwriters.

“This record is a return to my solo recordings featuring character driven songs and sweeping, cinematic orchestral arrangements,” Springsteen explained via press release. “It’s a jewel box of a record.”

Despite a studio drought, The Boss has kept busy. In December 2018 he wrapped his 236-performance stretch of Springsteen on Broadway, which was later released via Netflix.

The first single off Western Stars – “Hello Sunshine” – will be released just after midnight tonight, April 25.
