In a new statement, jamband Formula 5 have announced that they will take “an indefinite hiatus from touring” following their scheduled gigs this spring and summer.

“We thank you all for your love and dedication as fans and now family,” the band writes. “We hope to see your smiling faces at these four shows to help celebrate the music we all hold so dear.”

The quartet – featuring guitarist Joe Davis, drummer Greg Marek, bassist James Woods and keyboardist Matt Richards – formed in Albany, NY in 2012, and made waves in the last year or so with their “Widespread’s Dead” setlists, fusing together the songbooks of Widespread Panic and the Grateful Dead.

Their most recent studio release – All Points North – dropped in April 2017, and Relix complimented how the LP mixed “spirited classic-jam rock à la God Street Wine with jamtronica and playful, deceptively dark lyrics reminiscent of the Anastasio/Marshall songbook.”

For the band’s full list of remaining tour dates, including stops at Disc Jam and Benstalk Music Festival, visit their official website.

To our Fans, Family, and Friends,

After seven years of performing across the country, Formula 5 has decided to take a break from the road. Playing music for all of you has been, and is, the most soulfully rewarding experience we could have ever imagined. Never in our wildest dreams would we have pictured all this. We thank you, truly, for all the love we have received.

Starting this July we will be taking an indefinite hiatus from touring. We thank you all for your continued support over the years. We never would have made it this if it wasn’t for you. We love you all very much.

On March 29th we will play Putnam Place in Saratoga Springs. This will be our last club show for the foreseeable future. We will perform at Disc Jam and Beanstalk Music Festivals, and Formula 5’s Rock The Dock will go on as planned on July 12th, at the Lake George Steamboat Company, Lake George, NY. This years fest will be bigger and better than ever and we’ll be revealing part of the lineup at Putnam Place later this month.

We thank you all for your love and dedication as fans and now family. We hope to see your smiling faces at these four shows to help celebrate the music we all hold so dear.
