Following the passing of Pegi Young last week, Neil Young has posted a remembrance of his late ex-wife, which includes lyrics from one of the several tunes of his that Pegi inspired throughout their relationship.
“Thanks Pegi, for being such a wonderful mother to our children,” Neil wrote on his website. “You live on inside of them and the many you have touched.” Along with having two children together, Pegi and Neil co-founded the Bridge School, an organization that continues to aid children with physical and speech impairments.
Neil also included lyrics from his song “Such a Woman,” which appeared on his 1992 album Harvest Moon, in the tribute post: “You are such a woman to me / And I love you / Our love will live / Until the end of time/ No one else can kill me like you do / No one else can fill me like you do / And no, no one else can feel our pain / Love is a healer / And I love you.”

January 8, 2019 at 11:12 amExactly. I have no doubt he still loves her – after all the years and experiences they had together, not to mention the kids, I can’t imagine him not. Quoting those lyrics like that, however, was supremely disingenuous. While he might have meant those words when he wrote them, he clearly does not now.
