Trey Anastasio will open for Neil Young & Crazy Horse tomorrow, December 6. As previously reported, the show will take place at Atlantic City, NJ’s Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa, and the event will benefit the victims of Hurricane Sandy. Phish performed with Neil Young at both Farm Aid and the Bridge School Benefit in 1998. After the shows, Young invited the Vermont Quartet to back him during a European tour but the group respectively declined. Anastasio once admitted that the reason he played piano at a few solo shows in 1999 is that Young told him that “switching instruments helps keep the crowd engaged” during solo acoustic performances. Trey Anastasio Band recently announced a string of 2013 dates.
