As previously reported, STS9 bassist David Murphy will return to the Georgia Theater on Friday with his Pink Floyd cover group, Pigs On The Wing. The band, which also features Matt Weiss (Collective Efforts), Timi Conley (Kite to the Moon), Coley Dennis (Maserati), Mike Albanese (Cinemechanica, Powers), Alfredo Lapuz Jr. (Immuzikation, Velveteen Pink) and Stanley Walker (Velveteen Pink), will cover two classic Floyd albums in their entirety. Pigs On The Wing will perform both Wish You Were Here and Animals, in style that they explain, “uses the early 70’s, “Live at Pompeii”, style as a foundation, relying on the heavy guitar tones and organic sounds of that era to provide the backbone of the performance.”
